Duration: 5-6 hours
Altitudinal difference: 1700 m
Route of medium difficulty
Length: 9 km

A little known route of rare beauty begins at Agios Konstantinos and Agia Eleni chapel 4 km along the forested road from Dion to Koromilia. Immediately after the chapel on the turn in the road is the start of the path which has recently been signposted and runs parallel to Orlia Stream. If the forested road is not in a good passable condition the same point can be reached by taking the asphalt road from Karitsa village to Agios Vasileios chapel where the car can be parked. From here take the main path for approximately 1 hour after which it comes to a fork. To the right the path descends towards Kokkinos Vrachos which is home to one of the most stunning waterfalls on Mount Olympus with the impressive height of 18 m. Taking the fork to the left the path ascends towards Koromilia for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Koromilia is home to a refuge in a clearing. This is the point where the forest road stops and where the route begins. Take the road to the right and after a few minutes it leads to the ridge, follow this. Here the path is quite wide and care should be taken a little higher not to accidentally follow one of the diversions which are on the right and lead to the stream. There are many red markings which help guide the way and at the end of the route is Petrostrouga (2000 m) which is approached from the north and which is home to a refuge.
